Many companies make quality tires as well as inferior ones. It is often the model of the tire not the brand name that determines the quality. Although we highly recommend Nokian tires, we will be happy to order and install any tire a customer prefers.
Does High Price Equal Quality Tires?
Price is not the only factor in determining a quality tire. There are many expensive inferior tires.
We recommend models that we have installed and watched over long periods of time and mileage. Tire models we recommend are those we feel retain their original round state, resulting in good tread wear and service. This does not mean we recommend the most expensive tires. We have searched for the highest quality tires at the lowest cost to the customer.
Final Cost
If you choose to purchase tires from another merchant,
besides being weary of the tire quality, also be cautious of the initial price quote. Rarely, if ever, will the quote include the cost of the valve stems, mounting, balancing, and cleaning of the rims (to ensure a good seal and to avoid leaks). When we give you a quote on tires, that is your final cost, including parts and labor.
No matter what you do to the rest of your car, it ultimately rides on those four tires. All the preventive maintenance in the world will not give you a smooth and safe ride if your vehicle is equipped with inferior tires. Just like the rest of your car, maybe even more so, tires require preventive maintenance. Tires should be rotated every 6,000 to 10,000 miles to extend their life, and prevent uneven wear. Also, tire pressure should be routinely monitored, as properly inflated tires will help your vehicle achieve maximum fuel efficiency.
